The Bitcoin Foundation is Dead, and That’s Probably a Good Thing

It looks like the Bitcoin Foundation might finally be dead. At least, that’s according to Olivier Janssens, one of the more recent additions to the Foundation’s board of directors. Janssens took to Reddit on December 15, 2015, informing the community that he had been “forcibly removed from the Bitcoin Foundation board.” The former board member claimed that his tenure at the Foundation ended at the latest board meeting, when the board voted to remove Janssens in response to his motion to force the Foundation to draft a plan for development before attempting to raise additional funds from....

Last Week's Poll Results: PayPal, Digital Currency Integration a Good or Bad Thing?

Can you say landslide? That's the word that possibly most accurately describe's last week's poll. In that poll, we asked: "PayPal integrating digital currency: A good or bad thing?" We thought we might actually have a close race between "yes" and "no", but that wasn't the case at all. In total, there were about 700 votes cast, and a whopping 636 voters (90.86 percent) said that a digital currency integration into the PayPal platform would be considered a good thing. Only 64 people said that such an integration would be bad (9.14 percent). But why in the world would such a thing be....

Is Bitcoin Dead? Not the Part that Matters

Like many in the digital currency community, I’m tired of the "bitcoin is dead" line that has permeated mainstream coverage of high-profile software developer Mike Hearn’s decision to quit the "failed" bitcoin experiment. Yet if we contemplate this misguided storyline, there's much to learn from it. It's up to those of us who believe this technology truly matters and that, in some shape or form, it will change the world, to shift the narrative. Let's use this opportunity to restart the public conversation. The first thing to acknowledge is that the doomsayers might be....

Bitcoin Price Watch; Here’s What’s On This Morning

Here's a look at what we are focusing on in the bitcoin price this morning. That’s another week gone in the bitcoin markets, and to be honest, it’s been a pretty dull turnout. We’ve had the odd scalp breakout, and in turn, the odd profit, and we are heading into the close net up on the markets (which can only be a good thing), but it hasn’t been anything to write home about. With any luck, we will get a bit of volume over the weekend (even better, during today’s morning session) and we will be able to get in on some sustained momentum breakouts. So, with that said, let’s get a look at what....

The Crypto Industry Is Dying, That Is A Good Thing, Says Anthony Pompliano

Anthony Pompliano says most of the crypto industry is already dead and that the market has not fully admitted it yet. In a May 6 video posted on X, the Bitcoin investor and commentator argued that the sector’s long tail of unused chains, illiquid tokens and speculative projects is being cleared out as the parts with real utility merge into the broader financial system. Pompliano said the reaction to his initial post on X was immediate and hostile. He had written that “most of the crypto industry is dead and it’s never coming back,” a message he said followed him through the Consensus....
